A la Mode Shoppe 360 East 55th Street New York, NY 10022

Every neighborhood should have a A la Mode Shoppe in it. The ice cream is so delicious and well-priced.

A la Mode Shoppe at 360 East 55th Street

A la Mode Shoppe is the type of ice cream/candy shop that every neighborhood should have in it. It is a colorful spot with unusual, homemade ice cream flavors, and a nice selection of gourmet sodas, candies and gifts. The store is decorated with bright colors, comfortable chairs and a festive inviting environment. They even have a small party room off to the side of store with seating for small children.

What I come for is the ice cream. There are two flavors that I come for when I visit the store, Pink Sprinkles, which is Strawberry ice cream with loads of colorful sprinkles layered into it. The other flavor I love to order is Partly Cloudy, which is a Blueberry ice cream with tiny marshmallows mixed in. Both have such a nice presentation when scooped and the flavors are heavenly. The ice cream here is made in store and is rich and creamy and has such a nice flavor.

The Pink Sprinkles and Partly Cloudy flavors are the best

What I also like about A la Mode Shoppe is that their prices are extremely fair. Two scoops of ice cream (and they are nice sized scoops) are about $5.00 which is better priced than most ice cream places in Manhattan. They don’t try to rip the customer off. They carry Boylan sodas in the bottle, and they are $2.50 which again in not over-priced.

The store also has a nice selection of candies, clothing and gifts that are the perfect way to spoil any child. The store has something for everyone and can bring the child out in any adult.

On a hot sunny day there is nothing like a trip to A la Mode for delicious ice cream and a fun engaging environment to bring us back to our own childhoods.
